PREPARE YOUR GROUND!
Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.” 2 Kings 4:3 NIV
The passage above is the story of the poor widow that had nothing at home but a small jar of oil, she cried unto the prophet for financial and material breakthrough, then she was given an instruction by the prophet to get many empty jars. There is a mystery behind that instruction, IT IS CREATING CAPACITY TO ACCOMMODATE WHAT GOD IS ABOUT TO DO. She had just a small jar of oil, but she went out to get more empty jars to contain the overflow about to be released unto her.
Sometimes, you pray but you do not prepare your ground to accommodate or contain what you are praying for. This is a very important act of faith, expanding your barn to contain your expectation from God. This widow needed a divine breakthrough, she had nothing but still she created space for more before she received. Sometimes, all God is waiting for is for you to take a step of faith to create capacity to contain the blessing you are praying for or hoping for.
You are praying for a good job, but are your preparing yourself for that good job, are you acquiring skills (interpersonal, communication, analytical etc) so as to excel in that job? are you building and working on yourself to be outstanding career-wise. Many have lost their dream jobs because of unpreparedness and lack of the capacity to handle the positions they are seeking to acquire. CREATE CAPACITY TO ACCOMMODATE GREAT THINGS.
You are praying for a good, humble, wealthy and godly spouse, but are you preparing yourself for that kind of spouse? You want a prayer warrior or a missionary, Do you have what it takes to keep him consistent in his service to God. As you are praying, you also have to prepare yourself for the answer, you have to work on yourself, your character, your walk with God, so you won't be a pain or a stumbling block to the kind of spouse you are praying for, and trust me, GOD DOESN'T JOKE WITH HIS CHILDREN, He will never give them to those that doesn't deserve them. Work on yourself, build your life after the fruits of the spirit, walking according to the spirit in anticipation of your answered prayer.
Your are praying that God should fill your up with anointing, you are praying for a special call for service but do you have what it takes for the service. Can you handle the pressure that comes with it? Can you live a sacrificial life that such anointing you seek demands? Can you forgo your sleep for days ministering to weary souls? God does not waste His resources. When you pray for the anointing, work on yourself too, learn to love and have compassion for the lost and weak souls, cultivate a sacrificial life, cleanse yourself from the works of the flesh. CREATE CAPACITY FOR WHAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR. A filled cup cannot receive anything. There must be space before anything can enter into it.
Brethren, you have several things you are expecting from God, as you pray, take a step of faith to create capacity, create more space to receive, prepare yourself for what you are seeking, let God see that you are very desperate with your request, DONT JUST HOPE FOR THE OVERFLOW, PREPARE YOUR GROUND FOR THE OVERFLOW, CREATE SPACE, CREATE CAPACITY.
