THE SONS OF PERDITION

'While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.' John 17:12 KJV

Sons of perdition, according to Wikipedia are those in mortal life who "deny the Holy spirit," which is generally interpreted as rejecting and denying Christ after receiving a personal witness and a "perfect knowledge" of Jesus. Though, they are part of the church but refuse to be transformed by the light of the word of God, they are so-called believers that refused to shed off the old nature, they refused to die to the things of this world, they are ones that serve God with mammon. For all God the Father has given to Christ, He shall loose none to hell except the sons of destruction, those are constantly living in the part of destruction.

'Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.' Proverbs 29:1 NIV

They hear the word of God every now and then but they are stiffnecked, they hear the voice of one proclaiming the gospel but constantly refuse, though they met the Lord, but still enjoy the old life, their derive pleasure in going back to their vomit.  The works of their hands have bound their heart to hell and their mind to destruction. Indeed, they are seen in the synagogue but the works of their hands are filthy and wicked. The end of these ones is destruction without remedy if they refuse to repent and turn back to God.

'But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages. ” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.' John 12:4‭-‬6 NIV

Judas Iscariot was a disciple of the Lord, called into ministry by Jesus Christ, though he wined and dined with Jesus, though he was seen following Jesus like the rest of the disciple, but was a thief, he was the treasurer, using the money in the bag for his own personal gain. He listened to the teachings of Jesus but didn't not allow the word to bear fruits in him. He heard the word but was stiffnecked, that led him to his destruction.

Beloved, the kingdom of God is at hand. X-ray your life, review your love for Him, recheck your stand to see if you are still on the right track. Is your robe with spots or blemish, are you a christian with double identity, it is not too late yet, come back to the Lord with all your heart. JESUS IS CALLING YOU.

'Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.' Revelation 21:27 NIV
