GOD DESIRES YOUR TRUST

GOD DESIRES YOUR TRUST

"And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.  And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.  And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:" Exodus 4:2‭-‬4 KJV

From the passage above, Moses requested for a sign to show Pharaoh and his people so they will know the Lord has sent him, so the Lord instructed him to cast his rod to the ground which became a snake, after which the Lord instructed him to pick it up BY THE TAIL, then it became a rod in his hand. The fact that God told Moses to pick up the snake by the tail is a sign that God wanted Moses to trust him completely.

Picking up a snake by the tail is a very deadly attempt because the snake could easily strike him (since the head is free), God's intention was to demonstrate that He needs his children to trust Him even to the point of risking their lives, but still won't let their lives be lost.

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." Job 13:15 KJV

This is a powerful declaration. Job thought his afflictions were from God, still he decided to trust him, even when his wife and friends discouraged him, yet he stood his ground and held unto God, Job knew even if there is any hope of deliverance, it could only be through God, he was willing to die trusting God, and the Lord delivered him and restored in greater folds all he had lost.

"And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord , for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:  That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;" Genesis 22:16‭-‬17 KJV

Abraham obeyed God not withholding his son, Isaac, he was willing to sacrifice him at the instruction of God, He trust God even to point of willingness to give up his son, the promised son, the same son God promised to bring a nation out from, the son he had at old age. What a level of trust. He knew God that gave him Isaac, can still give him another (if it is His will), and if not, so be it. He was willing to let go and God was touched. God can be touched by the level of trust we have in him.

There is nothing we have that can add to the wealth of God, neither is there anything we can offer that will make Him more that who He is. What He desire from us is to trust Him like a child trust his father. God reveals Himself mightily to them that trust Him.

"Trust in the Lord , and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Delight thyself also in the Lord ; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  Commit thy way unto the Lord ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Psalms 37:3‭-‬5 KJV
