ASHAMED OF CHRIST?
It is disheartning that many believes are ashamed of Jesus. They express their new life in Christ in secrecy so men will not mock or persecute them. The are shy to showcase the wonderful virtues that God has given to them. They are afraid to be questioned, querried or confronted by men, so refuse to even talk about Jesus to their peers. Do you know many believers keep their bible in bags and purses on their way to church so people wont see them with one? Many refuse to declare their stand before men because it might make them miss out on some favours.
"After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him" Matt. 27:31 NIV
Beloved, when Jesus Christ died for your sins, He didnt die in secrecy. When He carried the cross, when He was wiped and spat on for your sake, all these weren't done in secrecy. His crucifixion was carried out in the open, He suffered the shame for you in the open, why then should you exhibit your christian life in secrecy. If He didnt consider what men will say before dying for you, why then should you consider what men will say before preaching Him to the world.
"but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven" Matt. 10:33 ESV
The implication of the passage above is massive. Jesus is our advocate in heaven, He is always interceding for us before the father. If then you are to shy to showcase Jesus to the world, He will also be too shy to advocate for you before God, even in the time you need the mercy of God. If you deny Him before men, He will completely deny you before God.
There are ways many deny Jesus before men, they do so in deeds, in thoughts, in actions and also in negligence. When you refuse to make your stand in Christ among your peers or colleagues, when you act in a way that present Jesus as unfaithful before me, when you do not practise what you preach, when men mock God through you, when you take advantage of your position in the kingdom for personal pleasure or gain, you are denying Jesus before men.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" Matt. 5:16

This is the expectation of Jesus for as many that identify themselves with Him. Let your light shine before all men. Let men see your good deeds of exploit, righteousness and love so that men may give glory to God. Jesus is the true light, Shining your light means showcasing Jesus, bring all men to the knowledge of Him. Being a good ambassador of Christ in speech, thoughts and deeds.
Never allow men to intimidate you from showcasing your Lord to the world, Never allow circumstances to shut you up. Men may persecute you, Jesus and the prophets of old were also persecuted, count it a thing of Joy to suffer for the sake of the gospel like the Apostles of old. They were joyous even to the point of death. Brethren, the glory ahead is too great to giveup.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Rom. 8:35KJV
