THE PRICE OF FOOLISHNESS

THE PRICE OF FOOLISHNESS

'But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the other came, 'Lord, Lord' they said, 'open the door for us', But He replied,'Truly I tell you, I don't know you'. Matt. 25:10-12 NIV

The scripture above is an extract from the parable of the ten virgins. They were referred to them as virgins, which means they were pure, but purity alone do not guarantee ending well. Five were pure but yet foolish. The wise ones took extra oil, this shows preparedness and diligence. They prepared ahead since they have no idea how long they would wait for the bridegroom. The foolish five were only concerned about the present, they had oil in their lamp and that's all that matters to them. They were pure but they were neither wise nor diligent.

'Go to the ants you sluggard, consider his ways and be wise, It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, Yet, It stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest' Prov. 6:6-8 NIV

This scripture use the ant as a perfect example, it gathers its food in the summer in preparation for the winter time when there will be no food. Even the ant understands that life is not entirely sweet, so it prepares ahead. There are many that refuse to plan ahead thinking their faith will suddenly bring out all they need without adequately planning and preparations. Even the scripture says, '...faith without works is dead' James 2:26 NKJV. Such people are always left stranded in life.

Proper preparation prevents poor performance, Oppurtunity only favours the prepared man. How prepared hare you? Do you just think of now and not the future? What do you do while you wait? What price have you paid in the past for your foolishness? Are you currently paying such price? Do you want to continue in them?

In life, everything has a price. you either pay the price before or after the outcome. There is a price for success and there is a price for failure. The difference is that for failure, you pay the price afterwards. When you refuse to work hard, you bare the consequences alone.

The coming of the Lord is at hand, The bridegroom is a,most here, How prepared are you? Don't be like the five virgins that only care about the present and ignore the future. Many are carried away by the exploit of ministry and have forsaken the one who has called them due to the desire to achieve one thing or the other in the ministry. What would Jesus say when you call Him Lord on the last day, Will He say, 'Depart from me ye workers of iniquity for I know ye not' or 'Well done, faithful servant, you may proceed into your rest'?  Make haste and mend your ways, be reconciled to God before its too late. Christ awaits you.

'Many will say to me in the day, Lord,Lord, have we not prophesied in the name? and in they name have cast out devils? and in thy name many wonderful works, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity' Matt. 7:22-23KJV
