 THE DANGER OF ANGER PART 2

Have you noticed when someone is angry, he/she begins to behave much more violently that he/she will ever behave, especially at the extreme case of anger, the manifestion is extremely violent leading to murder, inflicting injury on others even him/herself. Doesn’t that sound familiar to the case of the Gadarene mad man?

“Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.” Mark 5:5NIV

Permit me to conclude that anger is a form of demonic possession, no wonder it is referred to as “TEMPORARY MADNESS”

”lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”  2 Cor. 2 : 11 NKJV

Having known that anger is one of the devices of the enemy to steal from the children of God. How can one be delivered from it? How can one be free from it, so as not to fall prey to the trick of the devil?

1.     “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 KJV

Submit yourself to God; submit to the lordship of Jesus, you have to be genuinely born again by accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal savior.

Then, by the authority of Him (Jesus) that you have submitted to, rebuke the devil, rebuke anger whenever it comes and it will flee

2.     “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Ecc. 7:9 KJV

You to have a role to play, you have to make sure you are conscious of not giving yourself to anger so you won’t be a fool that gather together and allow the enemy to steal away the harvest

3.     “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph. 6:12 KJV

Declare war against anger and every works of darkness in your life. Settle it all on your kneels in fervent prayer because the effective fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16)

4.     “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Gal. 5:16 KJV

Since anger is a work of the flesh, so you have to work in the spirit so you won’t be under the influence of the flesh. How do you work in the spirit?

·        Renew your mind with the word of God every moment

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Rom. 12:2 KJV

·        “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.” Col 3: 1- 7KJV

5.     Pray for those that always make you angry. This is a sure way of having victory over anger, hatred and likes.

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” Matt. 5:44
