ARROWS IN HIS QUIVER

“He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.”  Isa 49:2 NIV

Arrows can be said to be sharp weapons shot from a bow to attack a prey or an adversary, while a quiver is a container for arrows (from which they are picked to be shot) mostly hung on the back of the fighter.

From the passage above, we can deduce that we are arrows that have been polished and kept in the quiver of God i.e. we have been taken away from the world, cleansed, purged, remolded and equipped with various spiritual gifts and power to be weapons for Him.

“Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”  Isa 1:18 NIV

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”  Luke 10:19-20 NIV

The Lord has equip us with power over the powers of darkness, and dominion over the enemies.

Arrows are not meant to remain in the quiver forever, arrows are meant to be shot. As arrows in the quiver of the Lord, we have been shot into the world, to preach the world of God, to deliver the oppressed, to heal the sick, even to cast out demons.

“¹⁵ And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

¹⁶ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

¹⁸They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”       Mark 16:15-18 KJV 

Jesus was on the field harvesting souls for the Father with signs and wonders. He was anointed for great works, still, Jesus said if we believe in him, we will do greater things than he did.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12 KJV

Believers in Christ! It is high time we awoke from slumber, it is time we woke up to the responsibilities Jesus gave us. He said, ‘Go ye into the world and preach the gospel”, He didn’t leave us to it by ourselves, He sent the Holyspirit to us, to empower us for this work.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 KJV

Don’t allow the sacrifice of Jesus to have little or no effect, as you have been saved, go out and save others. Remember, Jesus said ‘the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few’. Join the workforce of God, the Labourers of Christ and harvest souls for Him.

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2 KJV

Remember;

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Rev 22:12 KJV

Go out and do exploit for the Lord, the reward awaits you.
