FAITH; A MAJOR INGREDIENT OF ANSWERED PRAYERS
"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord." James 1:6-7 NIV
From the passage, without faith, it is impossible to receive anything from God. Doubt and fear are weapons the devil use to deny believers of receiving from God because he knows a wavering heart (i.e an unstable heart) cannot receive from God.
What is FAITH?
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 KJV
When you have an evidence (a witness in your spirit) that you have received what you are requesting, that's faith.
"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24 KJV
This is Jesus speaking, when you pray, you must believe that you have received before you can receive.
There must be an agreement between the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart. Thank God the bible says;
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19 NIV
So when the words of your mouth agree with the meditation of your heart when you pray, the heavenly father will answer.
Are you praying for healing, believe that you are healed, are you praying for prosperity, believe you have received it and you will surely prosper.
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." James 2:17 KJV
Don't just believe you have received, walk in it. Live as if you have received it. It is when you walk in what you have believed that your faith is confirmed.
I remember the story of a lame woman that bought a pair of shoe and took it to a healing service with the intention of wearing them back home because she believed she was going to be healed that day. What a faith. That's faith with work. Don't just believe, act on it.
"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3 KJV
As far as you are born again, you have a measure of faith. This faith is the foundation because it takes faith to be saved. This measure of faith can be built, it can grow.
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 KJV
As you study, listen, meditate and act on the word, you faith begins to grow. Faith is a spiritual virtue, acquire more of it. The prayer of faith is powerful.
"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick...." James 5:15 KJV
