WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

 

Christianity is not just a religion as been presented by men but a the nature of one’s life, a life style. Christianity is what we are created for, it is our duty, our purpose.

Before we can understand what Christianity really means, we must first of all understand the purpose of man’s creation. Why were we created after the likeness of God and not the likeness of the beasts of the sea, land or air.

God created man, out of his great love, to have dominion on earth just like God Himself have dominion over heaven and earth (Gen. 1:26; I Jn 4:17). This great love he has for us is what made him to come down to have father-to-son fellowship (to commune, to relate, to converse) with the first man He created (Adam) with a great level of intimacy. Out of love, He gave man the responsibility of ruling over all things and not to worship them like the idolaters. The love between man and God was sustained by the constant intimate fellowship between God and Adam, but when sin came, the intimacy God cherished so much was broken, and our sins caused a great separation between us and our God (Isa. 59:1-2); this made God withdrew the father-to-son relationship and rules us as a God that he his over his servants.

The father-to-son relationship He intended was replaced with a God-to-servant relationship because of our sins and this was prominent in the Old testament of the Bible but God still long for this intimate relationship he intended from the beginning. He still long for the Father-to-son fellowship,the incomparable outpouring of His love on a one-on-one level. In order to take away our sins (the separation between us and God), He sacrificed His only begotten son for the remission of our sins. Instead of the blood of animals the people of old used for  the remission and purification from their sin, Jesus was made a lamb for all nations and all generations, to deliver us from our sins and reconcile us back to God (Col. 1:19-20).

John 1:12,”But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”

Jesus became the bridge across the gap made by sin between us and God, as many that pass through this bridge will be saved, and have access to the Fatherly love God intended for humanity and the Father-to-son fellowship with God will be restored unto him.

Jn 14: 6,”Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.

Then, so that we will not be weary and led astray by the enemy (satan), God gave us His Holyspirit so He could lead us to God through the bridge (Our Lord Jesus Christ) (Jn 16:13).

            As many that will accept Jesus as their Lord and PERSONAL saviour, will become Children of God, Followers of Christ (CHRISTIANS),so the Father-to-son fellowship with God will be restored. Such person will have access to God and all the good things God has promised. So we can Serve and Fellowship with God through Jesus Christ by the help of the Holyspirit.

            Christianity is a life of constant and intimate fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, by the help of the Holyspirit.

SO, ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FATHER?

IS JESUS YOUR LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOUR? DO YOU HAVE THE HOLYSPIRIT IN YOU?

If not, why not come back to him so you will have access to God and all the love, provision, protection, favour and power that’s comes with serving him.

I Jn 1:9,”If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”
