SECRET TO BRINGING DOWN GOD'S PRESENCE

SECRET TO BRINGING DOWN GOD'S PRESENCE

Compared to the Apostolic dispensation, the power of God has become a mirage in the spiritual gathering of this dispensation. The moving of God's power as seen in the time of old has become something rare in the body of Christ. Instead of the glory of God, canality and worldliness have crept into the church, making believers prone to the devil's schemes and devices. The purpose of this study is to open our eyes to how we can bring back the supernatural power of God into our spiritual gatherings and to the body of Christ as a whole.

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:1‭-‬4 KJV

From the passage above, the disciples of Jesus gathered together with one accord. Being in accord means being in agreement, oneness, unity, harmony, they were gathered in oneness of purpose and heart, this is something most of our gathering of this dispensation lack. In our time, spiritual gatherings are filled with strives, competition, bitterness towards another, backbiting, intimidation, things that hinder the flow to the Holy spirit and the manifestation of God's power. The disciples were gathered in unity and the Holy spirit came down mightily upon them.

"And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."
Acts 4:24‭, ‬31 KJV

Peter and John were intimidated and  threatened to stop preaching the gospel of Jesus, and when they reported to the elders among the disciples, the prayed to God with oneness of heart, and there was an instant answer. The place of unity among brethren is very important. When we lift up our hands to worship God as a congregation, the state of our heart matters. When we pray together in agreement, miracle happens.

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 18:19 KJV

The prayer of agreement works wonders. For God's presence to be manifested in our gatherings, our hearts must be in love and unity, we must be united.

"But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,  And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.  But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things." Acts 5:1‭-‬3‭, ‬5 KJV

The story of Ananias and Sapphira has been long been connected to stealing and covetousness, but if we study this passage really well, the possession was theirs, if they hadn't given it out, who would've questioned them? In that period, the Holy spirit was fully in control of the church and manifesting the power of God because the church was unity, but Ananias and sapphira attempted to bring disunity into the church, if they had succeeded, that act would've crept unto the church and would've grown like cancer in the body of Christ causing disunity and hindering they flow of the Holy spirit, their death was an example for others, which made them feared the Lord more and God worked more wonders among them.

Unity and love makes the atmosphere very conducive for the Holy spirit to operate, but disunity created bridges which will hinder the flow of the Holy spirit. We have to go back to God and plead for mercy so that the love of God and oneness of the heart will reign in our heart and the God's presence will be restored in our spiritual gatherings.

                                ............GOD BLESS YOU
