SIN AND SICKNESS
"Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." John 5:14 KJV
There is a strong link between sin and sickness. In this age, there are many sin-related diseases which include various sexually transmitted diseases. Many of the infirmities men suffer are aided by sin and unfaithfulness to God. The enemy do not attack a man when he is active and alert, he comes when the man is asleep and sow evil seeds which include seeds of infirmities which when they germinate, they develop into life threatening diseases.
"But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." Matthew 13:25 KJV
Apart from the physical sleep, men also sleep spiritually, men sleep when they loose focus of their spirituality, when they stop looking unto Jesus, when they allow sin into their life, when they indulge in all manner of ungodliness and uncleanness, and in their deep sleep, the enemy comes and sow evil seed and goes his way. Sin create a crack on the wall of a believer, it opens a life up for invasion of the enemy since it causes a separation between men and God.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 KJV
This passage shows indeed that there is a strong link between sin and sickness, Jesus was wounded and bruised for our iniquities, and the stripes which are the result of him bruised and wounded brings about our healing. Just like the stripes are produced by the bruising and wounding, also, once a man's sin is taken away, he is qualified for healing because sin and sickness are coworkers, they are both agents of destruction in the hands of the devil. So for sickness to go, sin must go first.
Do you desire a disease free life, stay away from every appearance of evil, do away with sin, touch not the unclean things, and God will satisfy you with good health and long life. Are you looking unto God for divine healing, why not go back to God, confess your sins and let him cleans you with the blood of Jesus. Once your sins are forgiven, then the healing power of God will come upon you. Remain pure, remain whole.
"If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. The Lord will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you." Deuteronomy 7:12, 15 NIV
