PAYING THE PRICE
"Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus." John 6:24 NIV
From the passage above, the crowd, after seeing the miracles Jesus performed feeding them with five loaves of bread and two fishes, were the ones seeking for Jesus and not the other way round. Sometimes, what we need to do to draw men to Jesus is to show them what our Jesus can do. The heart of many are so hardened that it will take an accurate word of knowledge or miracle to bring them to Christ.
“Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.” John 4:48 NIV
There are many people out there that belong to this category, except they see signs and wonders, they will never believe. Many have been going from one church to another in search for miracles. Believers, knowing this, have to meet everyone at the level where they belong for the purpose of bringing them to Christ. Jesus performed signs and wonders so the people can see the glory of God and be reconciled back to Him. Why then have signs and wonders reduced in our time? Why then are Christian oppressed and pushed around in this time? Why does it seem as if God is far from this generation? Why have unbelievers blasphamed and reproach God in us? Why ? Most times, its because we have refused to PAY THE PRICE.
There is a price to pay for the anointing and power, it is then we will then be opened up into the realm of the supernatural where signs and wonders becomes an everyday exercise. Have you wondered why Jesus, the son of God had to fast for forty days and forty night? Have you wondered why He would withdraw Himself from the multitude to the mountain to pray?
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow." 1 Corinthians 3:6 NIV
Many at times, ministers have introduced canal and ungodly activities into the ministries for the purpose of attracting crowd, because they believe it is the trend of the day, so crowd will flow in. Jesus never did, one of the things He did was to show them what the Father can do, He revealed unto them the omnipotency of God, and on seeing this, crowds were searching for Jesus. True increase comes, not by thuman knowledge or tactics, but by God, although we have to plant and water by sacrificially paying the price for increase.
Salvation is free but spiritual growth is sacrificial. You have to work out you salvation unto the level of perfection, you have to pay the price through sacrifice in order to attain the level where you would open the people up to a greater level of possibility in God. When the people see you shinning the light, they will come to you light, but you have to shine the light first.
“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one." Ezekiel 22:30 NIV
God is earnestly seeking for a vessel of honour, God is seeking for someone who is ready to pay the price, someone who will stand in the gap for his nation, someone who will manifest the His power unto this generation like the times of old, are you available?
Are you in the ministry and have been depending on your knowledge and strength for increase, have you allowed worldliness and canality to creep in for the purpose of growth, have you forgotten you first love and gone out of His will looking for riches and influence, God is calling you back today, come back to him, be willing to pay the price, and He will make you a carrier of signs and wonders to you generation.
