THE BURNING ZEAL TO KNOW HIM MORE
"...but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits." Daniel 11:32 KJV
Those that know their God shall be strong, they shall resist corruption, they shall be like Mount Zion that can never be moved, they shall say a thing and it shall be established, through them, wonderful works shall be done to the glory of the Lord, but this question still remains, DO YOU KNOW YOUR GOD?
One of the propellants of spiritual growth is the hunger and thirst to know God the more. This hunger and thirst create an inextinguishable desire and zeal to want to get closer to God. Our God is an unlimited God, no one can exhaust him, no matter how deep you are in God, there is a whole lot of more depths you haven't discovered yet, what keep us connected is that burning zeal to know Him the more. The day that zeal dies, such believer stops growing, and a stagnant believer is as good as an unbeliever, he/she starts finding the kingdom work uninteresting.
"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death" Philippians 3:10 KJV
After all Apostle Paul has achieved, he still desire to know the Lord the more. That burning zeal to know God the more was alive in him. Never let that zeal die because in it, is strength and grace to carry on. Let the zeal of God continually burn in you. The knowledge of who God is, is a weapon on its own that moulds our faith as a shield against all the fiery darts of the enemy.
"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him," Ephesians 1:17 NKJV
In Apostle Paul's prayer for the Ephesians, He prayed that their eyes could be opened to know God the more, if only we know our God indeed. The revelation of the knowledge of God is what we need as believers, the more we know Him, they more we unwind ourselves from the worldliness and the works of the flesh, the more we are confident in Him, the more we are openned to the spiritual endowment God has bestowed upon us. When God sees the hunger in your heart to know Him the more, He reveals Himself more unto you.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8 NKJV
When you long to know Him, when you yearn for Him, He will draw closer to you, He will reveal more of Himself to you, He will show you mysteries that will daze you, just yearn for Him. Desire to know Him more, never let that zeal die, the zeal for God is a fuel that propels you in your Heaven-bond journey. Never let go of that hunger, never let go of that thirst.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6 NKJV
