SPIRITUAL CHECKUP
SPIRITUAL CHECKUP
"Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?" 2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV
This is an aspect that many have forgone maybe out of ignorance or overconfidence. Just as the medical checkup is important in monitoring the state of the physical health of a man, also the spiritual checkup is important in monitoring the state of the spiritual health of a believer. The bible said, 'test yourself', i.e. examine yourself, try yourself, weigh yoursef and see whether you are still on track, check up your self and. see where you are missing it.
We have to X-ray our life, are we growing in love, are we growing in the knowledge of God, are we growing in our fulfilling of purpose, are we growing in sacrifice or we are declining? Does the things of God still excites us? Do we still seek that God be glorified or that we be glorified? How much have we put to death the works of flesh? How much have we put to death worldly desires? How much are we walking in the spirit? How much do we yield to the Holy spirit?
Many at times, we get carried away with church activities and ministerial exploit whereas ignoring that stronghold of flesh that we are supposed to pull down from our lives, many have ignored their weaknesses due to been carried away by ministry or service. What you refuse to take care of, will end up taking care of you. Spiritual checkup is what believer should practise at constant intervals.
"Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." John 14:30 KJV
The devil is very cruel and subtle, he exploits our weaknesses if not taken care of. As insignificant as unforgiveness might seem to some, it has sent a lot of people to hell, it has hindered many people's prayers and it has withheld the mercy of God from many, so we have to search our hearts to be sure there is nothing of the devil in us. We have to be sure the devil doesn't have any hold on us.
"But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior], we would not be judged." 1 CORINTHIANS 11:31 AMP
Brethren, we have to evaluate ourselves, so we would not be Judged on the last day, we need to judge our actions, our words, our thoughts, every part of our lives so we can appear spotless and blameless before God.
"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV
..........GOD BLESS YOU
