IMPURE THOUGHTS; THE SOUL DESTROYER
"For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another."
Romans 1:21, 24 NIV
This is a standard principle that will ever be potent till the end of this world. You gradually become a slave to what you feed your heart with, it builds up and forms a stronghold over the mind. When you feed your heart with futility, vanity, sexual impurities and all manner of ungodliness, you automatically becomes a slave to what feed your heart on.
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he ..."Proverbs 23:7 KJV
The more you given in to sexual and impure thoughts, the more they build a stronghold over your mind which end up gaining control over you and compels you to gratify the flesh by trying to satisfy the impure desire and hunger you have acquired.
The clause, 'GOD GAVE THEM OVER..." doesn't mean God hands them over or God Himself makes them slaves to lust, but it means where God was supposed to come in, He can't because at that moment, you are feeding your heart with the things HE CAN NEVER BEHOLD OR TOLERATE. As far as you are still enjoying and tolerating sexual and impure thoughts, there is nothing God can do. Before a man can be delivered, there must be willingness and acknowledgement that He wants to be delivered.
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." Romans 7:15 NIV
When the strongholds are successfully built, they gain full control over the man and begins to compels him to fulfils the impure and sexual imaginations and fantasies He has been feeding on in order to keep Him as bay to the captivity of lust which also in turn empowers the spirit of lust upon that soul.
This provides answers to the questions that have risen regarding various addictions to sex, masturbation, pornography and all manner of sexual sin. Are you struggling with these, the only way to the free is through JESUS. He has set people free, He has set me free these struggles and addictions (being bound for many years), that is why I know He will set you free. Are you a victim to impure thoughts, sex, masturbation and pornography and you are eager and willing to be free? RUN TO JESUS, CONFESS YOUR SINS AND FORSAKE THEM, ALLOW HIM TO REIGN OVER YOUR LIFE, ALLOW THE HOLYSPIRIT TO RENEW YOUR MIND THROUGH UNINTERRUPTED STUDYING AND MEDITATING ON THE WORD, PRAYER LIKE NEVER BEFORE, COMMUNE WITH HIM THE MORE, DO AWAY WITH LINKS OR AGENTS THAT TRIGGER THESE LUST, AND FINALLY, CONTINUE TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT SO YOU WONT FULFIL THE DESIRES OF THE FLESH.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 NIV
