THE BLINDFOLD OF ENVY AND PRIDE
THE BLINDFOLD OF ENVY AND PRIDE
"And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also." Genesis 1:16 KJV
Look at the sun and the moon, they were created to give light. But they were given different level of strength and intensity because they were made to fulfil different purposes. The sun was made to give light during the day, the day needs more light, so much more strength and intensity was given to it, no wonder it was called the great light.
The moon was made to give light in the night, so, little strength and intensity was given to it. God design the night time, and the moon was mean to give little light so there won't be total darkness. The moon never envied the sun of its strength and brilliance, neither is the sun puffed up at its own brilliance. They both recognize their assignments and use their endowments to fulfil their purpose for creation.
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." 2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV
Everything thing God created (including man) came with virtues, gifts and abilities to carry out the work it was created for. Envy and pride are means through which the devil distract men from their purpose. They are like blindfolds that blinds a man from appreciating what is within. They prevents you from seeing and finding value in the virtues and gifts God has deposited in you. They are trick Satan uses to waste people's time and distract them from performing their divinely ordained functions.
The moon might be low in light intensity, but it is as important to God as the sun. Its not about how endowed you are, its about you being where you are ordained to be and doing what God has predestined you to do, that is what God cares about. Remember the parable of the talents? The servant that was given only one talent was actually envious of the rest of the servants, there was no motivation because He thought since He was given little, maybe there was no expectation from the master. If only his eyes was open to appreciate what he has, he might have been able to please the master with what he was given.
God is not a waster of resources, to everything he has given, he has placed a demand. There is an expectation on every gift he has given. We cannot all be general overseers, we cannot all be apostles, prophets, pastors, or bishops. We all carry different virtues to complement one another. There is diversity in the kingdom. Even the gifts of the Holy spirit are distributed across the body of Christ as the Holy spirit wills. Look within, appreciate what you are given and where you have been called to serve.
There is room for increase, the servant given five talents traded with his talents and got additional five. There is room for expansion in the kingdom, but it starts from seeing and knowing what you have been giving within, appreciating it and diligently utilizing them to the glory of the father with contentment and thanksgiving. That is what pave way for more. Humility and contentment is key. Accuracy is better than volume. It is not about how much you are doing or how much men see you do, it is about your alignment with your God's given purpose. You are more powerful than you think. Just look within.
.............GOD BLESS YOU
